Import Declarant & Customs Specialist
You make sure everything is correct before anyone even realizes something could go wrong. At Aircargo.nl, everything revolves around speed, precision, and teamwork. Import shipments need to come in smoothly, customs documents must be accurate, and customers expect real-time clarity. You’ll join a compact, professional import team where customs, logistics, and operations continuously collaborate. Due to growth, we’re looking to strengthen our team with someone who combines customs knowledge with a hands-on mentality.
What will you be doing?
- Preparing, reviewing, and processing customs declarations (import/export/transit).
- Coordinating import shipments and monitoring deadlines.
- Maintaining contact with customers, carriers, and customs authorities.
- Checking documents, HS codes, origin, and compliance.
- Performing and monitoring AEO audits.
- Identifying discrepancies and acting immediately on issues.
- Supporting colleagues with operational and customs-related questions.
- Contributing ideas for smarter processes and improvements.
What do you bring with you?
- Experience with customs procedures and declarations.
- Works accurately and quickly sees connections.
- Keeps calm when things get busy.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Works independently but also enjoys collaborating.
- Proactively addresses issues and solves problems before they escalate.
- Completed a declarant training program or motivated to obtain one.
- Nice-to-have: experience with AOG shipments.
- Nice-to-have: experience with customs systems and/or ERP.
